A wakizashi is a Japanese short sword. It would have been a companion sword for the longer samurai sword. This interpretation has a slightly more curved blade, similar to what you might find in the even smaller and shorter kwaiken. I love how the splatter etch pattern came out on the blade and is a beautiful contrast to the clean lines that are present in the handle.
